Hello CDC'ers, I'm looking to upgrade my 12 foot trolling rods this year for 14 footers and would like your opinions on 14 footers that you own or have used. I'm looking for something that can support a good size sinker and enough backbone to swing a crappie into the boat, but hopefully sensitve enough to detect light bites. All opinions welcomed

Troll Tech by Lew's is a good one too. I have sets of them and they are great. Academy Sports carries them or the Sportsman's Outlet in Springfield.

I use Southern rods.
After using Southern Crappie rods, I'm thinking about selling my Capps and Coleman's and loading up on those
Hey Speck. What do you like about the Southern's over the C & C's and what lengths are you running?
The tip and weight are very similar to the B&M BGJP. However, the power band is higher in the back, so lifting a big fish in the boat is a lot easier. It has the sensitivity of a BGJP but not the parabolic bend of a Capps and Coleman. It combines the best attributes of the BGJP and the B&M PST.
The ones I used were 14 footers. I use both 14 and 16 foot BGJP's and Capps & Colemans. Yikess purchased the Southern Crappies after using Cray's one day. We fished a tournament, Yikess using the Southern's and I used the BGJP's. I'm sold on them.
