    Default Still steamin....

    And it ain't plastic. lol

Ma said this morning she'd really like a nice fresh loaf of cinnamon-raisin bread. She's been good lately, so I rolled up the sleeves and went to work.

These two puppies won't exist by this time tomorrow. As soon as one is cool enough to handle without tearing it apart the knife is going to do its job. Big ol glass of milk and warm cinnamon-raisin bread is a perfect afternoon treat.

    2 eggs, well beaten
    3/4 cup of whole milk
    1/4 cup of sugar
    1 tsp salt
    3 tsp dry yeast
    4 tbls butter, not margarine
    3+ cups of flour.

Break up the butter into chunk in a large mixing bowl. Add the salt, sugar, milk and heat for 1 minute in a microwave. Let cool just enough that the eggs won't cook and add them and the yeast, whipping the mixture until well blended. Add about half of the flour and stir in well, then add the remaining flour a little at a time until you have a stiff but sticky dough. Let rise until double. Split the dough into two halves. Roll out one half, until it is the width of your bread pans. butter the dough well, spring with raisins to desire and then sprinkle liberally with cinnamon sugar. Roll up the long way and lay in the bread pan seam down. Repeat with the second loaf. Let rise until double in size. Bake for 25 - 28 minutes at 370, center oven rack. Remove from pan as soon as you take it from the oven, using a bread knife to go around the pan's edges to loosen if needed.
