I am working to get better at crappie fishing. Doing much better these days. I have a question on something I am considering. My Navonics chip that is in my HDS 7 bow depth finder is a Hotmaps Premium East E2 which is 2006. Is it really worth spending $149 to get a 2014 chip? I can't imagine there is that much difference but maybe I am wrong. What do you think?

I bought a Navionics app for the smart phone and loaded on the tablet. I paid $10.00 for it. Has detailed information plus submerged structure. And works off of the phones GPS. I use it to look for new areas that have the features that I am looking for. Virtual scouting if you will.
I have Navionics on the I pad also and mount it next to console when scanning. Use it for contours and graph for SI.
I have navionics on ICloud let me check the features on most major lakes all over the country on iPhone or iPad. I live in SE mo. hace a house on Sardis
It is a good tool .
Last night I was checking lakes in Al. and in Louisanna trying to rush spring by going father south. I would really like some information in the Alexandria, La. According to weather seems like temp is close to that on coast but enough inland the wind is less a factor
Check the Navionics web page ...
It has the freshest data to compare to your E2 chip ...
WebApp | Navionics
I have read reports that certain data (submerged bridges, creek channels, etc) ...actually may be dropped from current map chips ...
