Spray some WD-40 on your eyes of the rod if they freeze up. WD-40 wont scare away the fish either.
i think it got about as close to ice fishing as it gets around here today. it was so cool ,there was a thin layer of ice (in spots) on the creek i was fishing. the eyes of my rod kept freezing up. we dressed warm and had a blast. caught 7 keepers they seemed to be biting good when you found them.

GLAD YA CAUGHT SOME, jOE. I couldn't get out of the house. Too cold here.
KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY
yea it was pretty cold here last 2 days . i think it was 22 degress this morning but it warmed up quickly to the 50's.
Save your WD-40, for its intended purpose, and spray your guides/line with Reel Magic or plain silicone spray. You won't be polluting the water, or taking a chance of damaging your line, by using the petroleum based WD-40. ... cpOriginally Posted by crappiekid24
