Staying at Bucksaw Marina

My wife is now retired so we are ready to try some new places to boat and fish. I was thinking of Bucksaw as I have friends in the area and we like to crappie fish., The reviews for the rooms are so bad it is scary! Can anyone shed some more recent light on the rooms and accommodations? Thanks!

They have really let the place go, but the convenience gets me every time. I don't need much and like being close to the marina when I do stay. The wife refuses to stay there. Cabins are the best in standards, but just barely. I stayed in room #1 at the lodge this spring, it was newly carpeted and looked updated. Some of the rooms above the marina can be down right horrible. We've stayed at Gabies and RC Adventures, both above the Bucksaw level of accomodations.

I hate to beat up on them, I really like the people and the marina, but the few years I've hung around it is obvious that attention to cleaning and repair are not high on their list.

We stayed at grand river resort in racket during spring camp. They have rooms and cabins and the staff really take pride in what they do. The rooms are really meet and clean the staff is helpful and prices are reasonable. The only down side is they are about 10 minutes from Bucksaw but they are right on the hiway and the do have a fish cleaning station.

Wow I have not stayed at bucksaw in 3 years, can't believe it is run down this much,,, it was always a good place to stay. that grand river place sounds nice.

I was looking around on the Remax Real Estate website and seen Bucksaw is for sale. I think it said 3.5 million.

We always stay at Reel and Trigger resort down by the state park marina. Plenty of good fishing water in the area and the cabins are clean and well taken care of. close to the free ramp at the state park and marina. Good fish cleaning station. Owners are good folks too.
