It's a young one. It's parents must not be doing to suit it or it may just be a glutton.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

the boy next door found it when it fell out of a nest when it was very young and hand fed it till it could fly.....I was so surprised when it started coming to me for food......I try to keep some crickets around for it.....when I pull one out he goes nuts.....

That is cool and a bit surprising since jays are shy birds, at least around my house. We have Wrens, Cardinals, Doves and others and they tolearte us being in "their" yatd, but the Blue Jays take off at the first sound of us coming outside.
Guess you got him started young and he learned how to beg. I've read that they are very intelligent birds. He might want you to take him fishing.

Bruce, we were camping around Hot Springs years ago(25 or so) and made a day trip to Petit Jean to see the waterfall. We packed a picnic lunch. When we were setting up to eat I made the comment that the blackbirds, jays and cardinals looked larger than usual. Found out why. They landed on the table and begged. Shortly after, they just started helping themselves. We had to leave to be able to eat!!
