If you are interested in treasure ships sunk in the Gulf....check out these articles on Mel Fisher finding over $400,000,000 in treasure on the ocean floor out of Key West......there is a shop in Key West that you can buy some of this......I will be sure to look it up if I ever go there.....

you are going to have a blast. You aren't going to get the beach experience as the beaches are few and far between. I would get a convertible and just drive slow up through all the keys towards miami and maybe make a run towards the everglades. Stop by saltwater sportsman in Islamorada and there is also a place right south of there where you can hand feed 100+ lb tarpon. May want to check on lobster season also, we missed it by a week when we were down there.

We chartered a boat to go for dolphin and caught 40 or so with 2 other couples. Did a night tarpon fishing trip which was not that expensive out of Bud n Mary's. We hooked two but never got them to the boat as my wife got a little excited haha! Caught two huge sharks though. The town itself is like a mini New Orleans, you will enjoy the heck out of it and I am jealous
