Forest Lake (Thousand Hills State Park) 7/5-7/6 fishing report.

Fished the dock at the marina at Forest Lake and caught fish on jigs. Color of jig didn't seem to matter. caught them all about 5 feet down and had a blast. they kick you out at 10pm so make sure you limit out quickly.

Yes we did! My cousin had never eaten crappie before and now he is hooked. He lives in St. Louis area and is going to do his best to find all the crappie in the local lakes there.

Congrats and thanks for reporting on a lake we seldom hear about. Any size to them?

They were almost all 8-10". Only threw back a couple of them. No monsters but pretty consistent size. The folks that worked the dock said that's consistent with what people normally catch there.

If didn't appear that there was all that much fishing pressure there but I only went 2 days. Mostly pleasure boating.

Nice report, might have to try it sometime. Used to fish there some but now the 90hp limit keeps me off the lake.
