Pomme de Terre Wednesday (5-21-14)

God night of fishing on Pomme tonight, compared to an extremely slow bite last weekend. Pounded steep banks with an assortment of jigs for about 45 mins. and absolutely nothing except a decent channel cat. Moved to a little deeper water (25-35 fow) and we started marking some fish. Dropped a minnow on a pink jig head and immediately had a nice keeper. We rigged up another pole and started slow trolling and the bite was fairly consistent throughout the rest of the evening. My buddy and I ended up with 25 keepers and threw back several smaller fish. I was fairly surprised that most of the females we cleaned were still packed with eggs. I was convinced last weekend that the spawn had taken place and the fish were taking to deeper waters and a more summer like pattern, but after tonight, I am not sure that is the case. One other thing I noticed was the water was stained and not near as clear as what it has been the last few weeks. Hope this helps anyone planning on fishing Pomme in the next couple of days!
