Bamboo tree attractor

Hi,


Has anyone tried to make like a crappie tree out of bamboo shafts?...I have thought about trying to make one...Not sure if the boo would crack when trying to drill a hole through it...So, you could slide another boo shaft into the hole...I have a lot of ideas on how to make some...Just need to find out if you can drill holes into boo without cracking it...


If this would work?.....I think it would be easy to make and really cheap to make....Two possible disadvantages....The boo will I guess eventually fall apart?...Not sure on that exactly how long it would take?...The second disadvantage is might be easy to snag into it?...Not sure if the boo shafts will get snagged up easy or not?..

Anyone have any comments on this or any ideas?

I would think that if the bamboo is 'green' (somewhat fresh) it shouldn't split. Let us know how it turns out.
