What were you using for bait?
First i just want to say thanks to everyone on this board. this is a great site with people willing to help help each other. went out today and caught some good/great crappie only because of the info i got on here. i left this morning with one intention ( fish deep) and it payed off. I found a good spot and fished from the bottom up. started out in 40 ft of water and started catching fish aroung 32 ft all the way up to 18ft in the same spot. they shut down on me early or i caught them all lol. anyway thanks guys. i really think fishing deeper water is what is holding alot of people back. i know its not much to some but i set two personal records today (big fish and total catch for a day)
buy they way there was several bass that went along with these.

Way to go Bama! Nice work. Fun isn't it? lol
Good things come to those who bait.
good jod! it feels good to ask questions, watch and learn, then take it out and apply it and get results, now the only problem is is you have two records to break. go get em! nice fish.

Great, now if you can size your pictures so we old farts can see them better, LOL!
Never close you mind to deep or shallow and every where in between. Just let the fish do the talking, they will tell you the color, depth, speed, and size bait they want. If you are fishing a jig and no hits, change size or color and if you catch one with the jig deep in it's mouth you know you have it right. Because when they eat it and not just mouth it(these will be hooked near the edge of their mouth). If they really want what you have, they will eat it good!
Nice fish there. Good job on the depth thing.
