Fished the river yesterday. Water was 48 degrees and rising( level not temp). The channel timber I normally fish was three feet underwater. I could see fish and bait on down and side imaging, but couldn't get many bites. Fished cover near the bank with little success. These fish always seem to be on channel stumps throughout the year. The few stumps, I could see, yielded some fish. I fan casted jigs the the stump flats, but it didn't seem very efficient. I usually float a jig shallow or use a jigging pole. My only thought was to troll but I don't have a trolling setup on my boat. I never do it. I pretty much just fish the Ohio river and target visible cover. Would have went to a flatter creek but, I wasn't up for a rough boat ride( 4-5 foot swells). I think the fish stayed put and didn't move with the water. Any thoughts?
