Most commom jig weight for vertical jigging

Hey everyone, I was wondering what weight jig is used most often for vertical jigging? Also what depth would you consider max for that weight.

Not sure ,But I use 1/8 oz all the time with 4lb line. I use a large Umbrella Tube and like to keep in contact with it. Does good to about 15' then really needs to be heavier. This is just me, I hate them light ones. :D

I have a friend that guides on Ky. Lake. He Swears by a 3/32 oz. I usually use a 1/16 down to about 10' deep & an 1/8 when fishing deeper. 1/8 oz all the time when spider rigg'n.

I like 3/32 oz also as a matter of fact that is all I used this weekend they are good at all depths 20' and under. The only place that I have ever seen them is at Ken's in Lake City, KY.

1/16 mostly - don't care about feeling the jig - I want to feel something pulling back the other way

I use 1/8 and 1/4 (most) for vertical fishing usually summer months. The rest of the year like spring and fall I use 1/32 and 1/16.

The heavier ones help a lot in the wind as long as it's not too bad and also help get down deep like 20'. I can control the fall my self as I move it around. I also use 1/4 at night in the summer fishing with minnows by having a minnow on top hook and a jig below that.
