Default Kayak Trip Report, Limestone Bay

I fished the north end of limestone bay this morning from 6:00AM till around noon. I kept a limit and toss back many short fish. Half were caught spider rigging in 2 to 5 feet of water. The other half was single pole work on laydowns. Best bait was a 1/16oz, white Marabou jig with fish about 24 to 36 inches deep. When cleaned the fish were full of shad and it was an even split between males and female. No sign any fish were on beds, just staged. The water started this morning around 50 degrees and had warmed to 56 degrees by the time I left around 12:00.

Unreal. Great job. I fished there Friday and got skunked other than a few small bass i caught! I'm gonna blame my lack of success on the freezing temps Friday morning! lol.

I don't know if i'm more impressed with the fish you caught or that you could fight that wind in a kayak. either way, very impressive!

I fished the north end because I knew there were some productive areas out of the wind. The great thing about limestone bay is productive spawning areas at all four points of the compass.
