I've had terrible luck with the mr crappie bait casters and hate my 12' slab shaker rod. Thumbs down on any product with ole Wally's name on it.
Does anyone here have any experience with the Mr. Crappie Slab Shaker spinning reel? I'm seriously considering getting one for an Eagle Claw 6 piece Trailmaster rod.
Where you go is less important than how you take the steps.
But don't forget the Roadrunners

Take a look at the shimano sienna 500fd or pflueger trion tri20x. Both great reels for 29.99.
Check out the okuma reels, good reel at a good price.
I have good luck from the ultra light Shakespear reels I get from Wally World. I,ve used them several times fishing below Barkley Dam for stripe bass and I,ve caught some big ones using them! They,ve held up good for me for years.
Joe, for a small reel that avocet is a good one along with the 2 Kevin mentioned. I'd try to put my hands on them on your rod if possible to check grip and balance.
