    Default Trolling motor Fish finder

I have a V Drive on the front of my boat. I just upgraded to a 998 for the main fish finder. I have the boat in peices anyway so was considering putting a humminbird 571 hd di on the front, found it cheap 148.99 clearance. I guess my question is should I or not? I really only need it if I spider rig???

is the option no fish finder on front or the 571? if so then yes do it. I use mine for staying on spots and in summer when I'm vertical fishing structure. not sure i could go without for the simple fact i like to no the exact depth I'm at for staying where the fish are.

That's a good price for a DI, and I think you'll be happy to have it on the front.

I have the lowrance 4 DSI on the front and haven't seen anything that cost way more than the $200 I give for it that I would rather have..... and have the bird 581 with gps at the consol also under $200 and catch a lot more fish than I could ever eat........

I have a 597di on the front of mine and I love it. The other day I was spider rigging on a flat in about 18.5 fow and I would run through a giant school of baitfish and as they would swim past my line they would tick each rod. It drove me crazy. I would foul hook one once in a while. When a school of crappie shows up on the screen, it lights up like a Christmas tree. I would not go without a di from now on. I have the di w/ the GPS. Very helpful in most cases.

I have the X 4 in the front. Would only trade it for a bigger one.

Picked up the unit last night, also snagged a 4 pole set up for spider rigging. I should be a crappie slaying machine in 30 days.
