Read on the bbc board that you could stop the screen of and Elite 7 HDI, make sonar adjustments such as sensitivity and etc. and restart the screen. Somehow this doesn't make sence. You are freezing the existing screen how can you make changes?????...crappie1133

Most modern finders store their data in a raw format, and some settings just perform an action on that raw data on the display. You aren't changing the returns, you are adjusting the picture.

Some settings like ping rate or frequency actually change the sonar signal, so changing them won't adjust what's already on the screen.
