    Default Limestone Creek /Bay Report

Went out to Limestone bay this am to see what the crappie were doing and after an hour and no bite fishing the stumps, I trolled my small flatbottom back into the creek to bass fish and caught 18 nice bass and then realized I was sitting right on a hole where I catch crappie every spring and so tossed a minnow over to the ledge and it didn't last 2 seconds before a crappie grabbed it. sat on that hole for an hour and caught 20 keepers between 9.5 and 12 inches on both minnows and jigs. fish were still biting when I had to leave and then caught 6 more bass on the way out of the creek. the bass were all caught on black worms and the largest was a 4bl'er.

yes I was up in the creek. the stumps in the bay have always been hit or miss for me as I don't troll/spider rig. I prefer casting to them with jigs and I usually drift a minnow behind the boat as the wind moves me along. I always hated getting jigs and hooks caught on the stumps and having to backtrack or break off.

    riverboss,

It always seems like the Black Crappie are the hold outs in those holes late in the year, very seldom are there any Whites that will measure.

I was wondering what was up. I mostly catch whites at that spot in the spring. matter of fact, I mostly catch whites in that creek.
