Default New From Lowrance -- Once again competition gives us new products

Lowrance® SpotlightScan™ Trolling Motor Transducer | Bass Pro Shops It Appears BPS has taken these pages down

    • Forward- and surround-scan imaging for your HDS Gen2 and HDS Gen2 Touch displays
    • Quickly identify key fishing areas before your first cast
    • Do-it-yourself, bow-mount installation for foot-control, cable-steer trolling motors
    • Operating frequencies: SpotlightScan (455/800 kHz); DownScan Imaging® (455/800 kHz); and Broadband Sounder™ (83/200 kHz)

The Lowrance SpotlightScan Trolling Motor Transducer is required for adding Spotlightscan Sonar to your Lowrance HDS Gen2* and Gen2 Touch
fishfinder/chartplotter displays. This incredible sonar provides a new level of angler-controlled, forward- and surround-scanning views to provide picture-like images of key fishing areas. SpotlightScan Sonar clearly pinpoints structure and fish targets ahead and around your boat, similar to the way a scanning spotlight reveals objects in the dark. Consequently, you save valuable time on the water and maintain focus on the most productive fishing spots without disturbing these areas before you have a chance to fish them. The SpotLightScan Transducer also features DownScan Imaging and Broadband Sounder for the bet possible view beneath your boat.

NOTE: HDS Gen2 (non Touch) models require the SonarHub™ module for compatibility with the SpotlightScan tranducer.

Lowrance® SonarHub™ Module Only sold separately and can be found through item search for number 2061757

    $499

I sure hope they get it right. They are certainly on the right track with the price though! If they nail the performance, it'll be yet another upgrade. It's also nice to see that they don't have any deployment system, or puck on a stick. Can't wait to see screen shots from beta units. They've also added Chirp, which is awesome.

Working for me from the posts. The actual link is ww.basspro.com/Lowrance-SonarHub-Module-Only/product/1309110626209/?cmCat=CROSSSELL_PRODUCT . Paste that in your browser and add an extra W to the front and see if it works. It Appears BPS has taken these pages down

This is the beauty of having multiple companies pushing each other. It gets us better stuff or lower prices. We're in the better stuff phase right now, but if this is as good as it could be it will have to put pressure on Humminbird to bring their prices down. I'm worried that Humminbird will get bought up and wind up under the same ownership as Navico though.

I really like the black box sonar interface approach. IMO, the displays need to be just displays and keep the brains under the deck somewhere.

Apparently it hasn't been announced yet. Not sure why BPS has it up. I pasted it in the post in case it disappears.
