Good to see you taking a kid fishing. I have 2 and 5 year old boys. Hopefully, we have a lot of fun years ahead.
I had the great pleasure of taking mt youngest son Seth fishing this past Saturday. In the past he has only liked to stay on the water a couple of hours. He is now eight years old and I think he is starting to get more out of being outdoors. We started the day (before sunup) at the doughnut shop. After a cherry iced doughnut or 2 we put the boat in the water right at sun up. Idled out of the canal and he was ready to "go fast". We made a quick run to our first spot of the day a brush pile in 20' of water. I rigged him a pole and he started fishing. I caught several and he was wanting in on the action. He held the pole right, didn't move the jig too much and demonstrated a lot of patience for an eight year old. I kept the boat right over the sweet spot with the trolling motor. Finally he was getting a bit bored with no action. I felt a fish a thump my jig. I set the hook and handed him the pole. He wrestled with the fish and finally got him to surface. I grabbed the fish and brought him into the boat. He gave me a hi five and then I took the picture. We caught and released around 20 fish. He asked me why we were letting all of the fish go? I told him "I want to make sure that there would be fish for him and his son". He was OK with that. I think he has the makings of a good fisherman. All an all it was the most enjoyable fishing trip I have had in a long time.

Nice! My son is 10 and he loves to go fishing. He asks me almost every day if we are going fishing today. Kills me to have to say no most of the time, but we make up for it on many weekends.
Congrats Seth, keep up the good work
Love, what more can I say

Nice fish. Way to go Dad!
Currently a non-fishing slacker! (not for too much longer)
That's a great picture. My grandson is 9 and we age going trolling wednesday morning. He loves it when there is action but he gets a little bored is nothing is happening. Hopefully the fall bite will start soon.
The only thing that could make that pic better would be if Seth had him a Crappie.com hat instead of that bass hat. Good job Seth and keep those pictures comming.
