Looks like your going to find out soon enough. Wow bobber and minnows from the shore. Great Job. Guess it show if you fish were the fish are you don't need anything fancy.
i always heard about crappie fishing and never really thought about it much since im more into catfish bass and saltwater fishing but my buddy took me fishing and i gotta say im addicted and hooked! its by far my favorite type and i do it about once a week. Here where i fish you cant keep anything unless its over 8" but i still have been filling up my cooler and my freezer and my stomach. heres a few pics of my last 3 trips out. i got me a bnm super sensitive rod and i gotta say trying to bring in a catfish on that thing is a fight but its fun too! ive been using minnows and bobbers with glow sticks attached since i dont have a boat i cant really go out deep im assuming thats where the bigger ones are? my biggest one so far is 14 inches. how big do they get?

Nice mess of fish - -
Looks like you should be giving us ideas! Nice batches of fish.
Keep them poles bent and the boat right side up! LOL
I know what you mean. I still do all types of fishing, but crappie has become my favorite as well.

An 8" size limit generally means the waters are overpopulated & need thinning out, or the waters are not fertile enough and/or have enough baitfish to produce consistent growth above that length.
Crappie have been recorded as getting up to 6lbs ... but, generally speaking most state records are in the 3-5lb catagory, and a 2-3lb fish is considered a "Slab".

Not having a boat has not slowed you down at all, Good work! When you do get one all I can say is the crappie better watch out.
I like that forum name too.

Nice!! The crappie bug has bitten me also!! I have heard they get as big as 15 and 16 inches. Those are the 2-3 pounders. But there are the big 5 pound ones too if you ever find one.
