How important is it to have your pole as still as you can on windy day? and any trick to keep them from bouncing like with more or less weight or stiffer or lighter pole?
Hard to beat a big heavy glass boat. To me, the more limber poles act somewhat like a shock absorber, minimizing the up and down travel of your bait on a windy day. Also, it's lots better to use drift socks and let the waves hit the back of the boat. I try to never fight the wind but use it.
