you shoulda took a picnic lunch. nice picture though
Sunday afternoon we ventured to Beouff Creek access to the MO River. We had never been over there when the water was this high. The water was at the top of the ramp so didn't have to back down very far. Several boats over there. Some bow fishing but water was so muddy and way up in trees it was probably difficult to do. Motored down the creek and big log jam maybe 1/3 mile down from ramp. Had to go through trees on bank then down flooded field and back through trees to get around log jam. This was a big solid jam. Don't know if it will pull out when the water drops because it has to go around a sharp turn before straight stretch to river. May need a flood on creek to help push it out. Got down to RR tracks and the water was at the bottom of the metal beams. The sides are higher so we could fold seats down and shrink down in boat and slide under.
Fished a couple of spots down at the mouth of the creek but nothing. I had 1 bite and caught 1 sturgeon. Husband had no bites. Went back up the creek a ways and tried but nothing. Saw lots of shovelnose sturgeon rolling on top but they wouldn't bite. Usually we can catch them like crazy but not sunday. They may have been spawning. Water temp was 67. The local waters around here are really messed up. The Bourbeuse was all out in the bottoms. A lot of replanting ahead if it ever dries up.
