    Default G3 Angler Pros/Cons

Anybody run G3 Anglers? Any pros/cons? I'm real close to pulling the trigger, but I'm undecided. Any help is appreciated.

Con: tin boat. Other than that, I hear good things about G3's.

Check out a Lowe Stinger before you pull that trigger...Double big live wells fore and aft the widest most stable aluminum boat and the best deal on the market for the money...IMO.

I have a G3 HP170 and love it. I've had it for about 6 years.

Which model are you considering? I had it narrowed down to a Tracker Super Guide and a G3 Angler V167C, until I stumbled across a great deal on a Stratos 176XT. I have yet to find negatives about the G3 boats, other than the fact that they are aluminum boats.

I have since learned a few things ...

Mercury's 40-60hp motors are made in China. For me that rules out anything running one of these motors.

G3 is owned by Yamaha, and they ALL have Yamaha motors. Yamaha has performance data for these boats online, here is the V167C with an F60.

Another boat in this category that I would consider is the Alumacraft 165 Classic.

PM G3 Troller on here and ask him, he had as fine a G3 that is made, 20 footer with a 200 yammy if not mistaken, and now rides in a glass boat. If you slo troll it is gonna catch ALOT of wind with the front end, sits high out of the water. Like I said, Pm him he can give you a good comparison.
    Good luck whatever you decide.

Wrong! Tohatsu/ Nissan has an agreement to manufacture all portable Mercury engines below 40 HP. Japan not China and they are wonderful motors.

I've a 2004 g3 v170 with f75. works good for vertical jigging. Deep v drafts a lot of water, can't beach boat real far up on bank sometimes.
