    Thumbs up Acton 9/9

We hit Acton yesterday around ten in the morning. It was one of those rare days when the weathe rcooperated with the solunar calendar. Peak times were supposed to be around 11:30 am to 3:30 pm or thereabouts.

It started slow and stil lwasn't a bang-up day, but we did find a fair number of crappie, a couple of cats and bull bluegills. No saugeye. Crappie were mostly 8 - 9 inches, though I caught one that was 11+. Doug out caught me two to one, but I got big fish.
Almost everything was taken on a black tube with a white skirt on a 1/32 black ballhead jig tipped with a shiner. There were a couple of exceptions.

Water temp was 71 when we started and 74 when we quit.

There weren't many people on the water in spite of the nice weather. The duck hunters were pretty busy assembling their blinds for the October 21 waterfowl season. - Roberta
