    Default Where in October?

Got some time off in mid-October. Best place to go in Michigan for crappie? Any crappie in St. Clair?

I've heard of a lot of people doing well at Kent Lake in the Kensington Metro Park (West of Novi) during mid-October. I don't know about St. Clair, but hopefully someone will be able to direct you in the right path.
I'd rather be on the lake enjoying the thrill of my rod telling me there's a fish on the end of my line. :D

If Lake St Clair is anything like Lake Huron then the marinas and cuts will flood with minnows when the big lake water dips below 55 degrees for a week or so. The water in the cuts and marinas tends to warmer for several weeks and the Crappies follow the minnows in. I know for Saginaw bay it is normally mid October through November depending on mother nature. You still have to hit several places looking for them but once you find them it is real slab time. Some years are better than others etc... The best part is your usually alone.

I must have been smoking crack in my last post here, I meant mid September through October, not mid October through November. Just as a data point water temps were 57 degrees last weekend in a couple of marinas on the bay. WOnt be long now
