I'm a wide beam man.
If you fish big water and don't have to weasle in between trees to get to the back of the coves, wider is better. Less shaky, shaky in the wake waves.

I have a crappie pro 175 which is a little smaller but like KP said if you get in and around a lot of trees it will slide right through depends on were you fish. Tracker is like the poor mans boat, in my opinion if your buget will allow get a triton or a lowe. my 2 cents.

Don't forget to look at Xpress - they are a very nice welded all metal boat. The three "big boys" in welded all metal are Triton, Xpress and Lowe. The three "big boys" in welded with wood decking are Tracker, Fisher and G3.
I think that any of the all metal boats you would be pleased with. I picked the Lowe because I liked the layout better for me. I would recommend you look at those three and see which floor plans suit you. Do look at the Lowe Stinger 175 - no matter what, at least look ... that rascal is all setup for crappie! The floor plan is great and get this, two livewells - both are 23 gallons WITH minnow buckets, one in the front and one in the back!

My Lowe was less expensive than the same boat in a Tracker, too. I bought a Stinger 160 (had to fit in garage, 175 too long) with a 50HP EFI Four-Stroke. It was about $900 less than the Tracker and better built. IMO, Tracker is using their $$$ on marketing not materials.
