Poulan is what I've got...I have never had to do anything major or anything...But for what I need.....It's great......Hope this helps you...
My little 14" 2.0 CID McCulloch died after only 25 years of pretty heavy use. I don't need a professional saw, just something that will work when I need it. Are Poulan any good? they seem to be pretty popular.

STIHL it wont let you down...not a better saw made for the money.

the biggest bang for your buck would be STIHL
Most of the farmers and winter wood cutters in my area use Stihls. So do I. If you don't use one very much a cheaper saw might do. I would check the price on a smaller Stihl and compare....
Bought my saw in 1980, 16" bar. Only problem I ever had was the points had to be replaced after about 20yrs!
