Default Howtons Camp Warrior River Advice

I plan to take my father in law fishing and will launch at Howtons camp Saturday or Sunday depending on the weather. I would appreciate any advice as to where to fish that anybody would give. I will bring minnows and jigs but have never fished there before and dont know if I should go up or down the river. Any idea of if they are shallow or deep would be helpful. Hes 83 and used to catch them down there but hasnt caught any for years. I dont need your honey hole GPS coordinates but any advice would help.

I got your PM Fultondalecrappie and appreciate it. If the weather holds out maybe we can catch a few. If you ever fish Logan I will have a spot saved for you to catch um.

I'm thinking a black and chartreuse curl tail jig fished in the 'tops near weeds in creeks and the small cuts/pockets in creeks should produce some fish. I haven't caught enough there in the last couple of weeks to really pin point 'em for you. If Linestretcher says to try something different than I said then listen to him! I would know.

Just a little update of what not to do. I went on Wednesday in the rain and could not find them upriver near Copeland Ferry. I would tell you not to go far from Howton's unless someone has a hot tip. Let us know how it goes. I hope y'all fill up a couple ice chests. Good luck!!!

I launched at Howtons and didn't do too well on Saturday. Only caught 3 keepers.
