KC area - Prairie Lee 4-7-13

Got out to Prairie Lee today. My motor is in the shop getting a new impeller but I couldn't stand not going fishing on such a nice day so I went out with just my trolling motor for motion power. From the boat ramp I just stayed right on that same bank and went west hugging the bank, dropped anchor a few times. In 3 hours I caught 13 fish, 9 keepers all between 10-11 which I consider good for Prairie Lee. All were caught about 20-30 feet off the bank in 6-10 fow. I used slab slayers with jigs, minnows with jigs under bobber, and minnows on a free hook under bobber, and they didn't seem to prefer one over the other, all worked about the same. About half/half male/female. I will not say it was fast action by any means, missed a number of fish, but it was a fun day and good to be out on the water. Happy fishing all!

Sounds like a good day to me! I guess I ought to try some on these local lakes, I guess they are just to close to my home?
