    Default Using Herring in Lake Hickory Illegal???


    I know that it used to be illegal to use herring for bait in Lake Hickory. Is this still against the law or can you now use them? Thanks 32Racer

    Looks like I found my answer:  It is unlawful to possess, transport or release live alewife or
    blue back herring in the Little Tennessee River and the Catawba
    River, upstream of Lake Rhodhiss dam, and their tributaries and
    impoundments. This is from the NC Regulation Book
