You should be fishing enough to keep the quantity of worms to a manageable level.
Thinking about starting a worm bed this year. One question I have is, will the population find it's own natural balance for the volume of the enclosure? Or, will they continue to reproduce and possibly over populate the enclosure and have to be thinned?
Thanks.

Shure some neighbor would take some, might even give you a mess of bream.
You can never go wrong with giving the local kids and others worms from your beds. I have a buddy from work that uses the castings and worm tea for his gardens and he has no problem in giving me worms any time I ask for them. Those home raised worms have a chocolate smell to them and can survive alot longer than those store bought ones that you have to keep cold. Good luck on yer bed and good luck fishing!
Using and gifting others with fishin' worms will keep the population balanced. If your not using them they will overpopulate
and stunt.
