Go deep for good fishing, Crappies are hanging out in the 20' range. Just set your slide for different depths to see where they are holding. On Aug. 10, I had a limit in 2 hours, most were 10", none over 12". Find a steep bank, then move out, on a bright day fishing 12' down is not that unusal. During this time my grandson pulled up a 15 pound flathead , 28" long, just a bonus while crappie fishing. He hit a minnow. Good whites and channels are also hitting now. A string of 5 pound channels is not that uncommon, they are on the flats, under shad schools. This is a good lake to fish , take a little time and move around, get out of brush. I like the open water, losing hooks and line in the brush is not for having a good day.
Good information indi and welcome to the boards. You know you're more than welcome to post pictures too. :D
