    Default Woodeyes question repost. What size jigheads?


    I am new to pouring cpappie jigs. i want to use round head. plus minnow head. what is the most popular weight?
    what size hook #2 or 2/o I will using minnows and tubes. Plus i will powder coat my jigs.
    I am new to this site . So if I posted to the wrong site sorry.

    That is a question that each fisherman has to decide for themselves. I use jigs from 1/64 up to 1/4 oz for crappie fishing with a 1/16 being the one I use the most. I use sickle hooks in all of my jigheads and the hook size for 1/64 & 1/32 is #6, for 1/16 and some 1/8 is a #4 and some 1/8 and all 1/4 oz is #2 sickles. Some uses a #4 in a 1/32 also but I think the #6 works just as well as the bigger hook if not better.
