Man....I wasn't even born yet and you were pounding monster gills!!!!
Awesome pic.....I have one of my son with his 1st walleye with a smile that big. Helps it was 31" 11#r. dang kid.
I love old human interest pictures. How about a contest where we post old photos. The only rule it has to have a fish in it. I don't know how to manage such a contest it is just an idea. I will contribute a prize once we all agree on how it should work.
Here is an example. This is me circa 1972 at Heber Springs.
Let me know what you think.

My Dad was big into spear fishing at the time. You can see his wet suit in the pic. He found a bed while under water marked it and moved the pontoon over it. I believe we could have filled a barrel. I still remember my arms hurting. Maybe cheating a little but that's what Dad's do for their boys.
Been that type contest before but another one would be great.

Me in 1967...Coonskin hat and yellow bellied perch. Them was the days!! The trolling motors back then were made out of wood....one on each side of the boat....
My Mom took me up to Weiss Lake Music Park to fish off the bank. I caught these 36 that weighed 50lbs...I can still remember that Sunday in April 1984...temp was 63 and sunny! I was 12 at the time and my mom loved to crappie fish! I have to give her credit for my love for fishing...she passed away May 2005 at the young age of 60! I got to take her on her last trip to three mile bridge on the same lake and had to tote her down bank to fish! Not the best pic as its a snap shot of an article they put me in!
An ungrateful man is like hog under a tree eating acorns, but never looking up to see where they come from!
My friend Don G might win if they had cameras back then

I must say that that's a good idea.
If your going to do that. It should be a picture that has never been enterd before. That will mix it up for a really great thread.

I have caught great big crappies when I was a youngster, but no one was around to draw a picture. Sad to say, but cameras had not been invented.
I see GeneC has joined up with Boscoe(Bozo) & Crappiefarmer(wet behind the ears). I might be old but I'm still purdy.
