I am the same way my dear stand is my back deck - have not killed one this year - 2 does did run out on me while I was cleaning fish last Saturday
crap-king
I am having deer chili tonight. yum yum..So many deer around here that it is an open season for the doe (3 buck limit). I am not a big deer hunter, but I do stick the business end of my 270 out the back door and nail some snack meat on occasion. I usually grind the deer up for sausage, hamburger, and slice the good stuff for jerky. Hard to beat deer jerky and a toasted crappie sandwich snack. Goooooooooooood.

Nope, no deer for me this year. I only hunted a very little over Thanksgiving. Actually only one afternoon and one morning. It was great to get out into the cold chilly Michigan air, into the woods, and watch nature silently. But I did not see anything to shoot. It really did not even matter to me.
I hunted on my sister-inlaws property, and the bro-inlaw just got out of surgery (had his knee scoped), so he wasn't hunting, and thats part of the reason I hunted so little. Deer fever just was not in the air.
3 buck limit. Back door hunt. Rifle country, hmmm Cane Pole, maybe I come down for a visit and help you put another through the grinder. lol
You know what the funnyiest thing is, this year, right before I went to Michigan to hunt, I had a 8 point buck in my yard. I live in a subdivision, not real near the country, so fo me this was quite a suprize. A shock actually. The darn thing couldn't figure out how to get out, then it jumped the 6 foot fence.
