    Default sounds of change

Sitting at my desk this morning, I heard the chatter made by snow geese. I thought, is this just some locals that never made it south? Wasn't long, I spotted a large group heading north.

    Here's your sign for ya.

Noticed a bunch of tulips coming up in the yard today, we aren't in the clear yet, but on the back end of it. Giddy as a schoolgirl!

I was on the i e fishing this morning and i thought the birds seemed quite chatty. Ive had a great time on the ice this year but will look forward to taking the boat out again. Now that i say that i remember i need to fix my bilge pump.

Late february is a great time to visit places like GoosePond to view the migrating water fowl. Thousands of sandhills and several whooping cranes can be observed.

I said snow geese....correction... I meant to say sandhill cranes. They have a distintive chattering noise that is easy to recognize versus the honking of geese. The Goose Pond in Green county is on my list of places to see. My wife and I were talking about that the other day. Need to check it out. Thanks for the reminder , Raporter.

Spring my favorite time of the year. The sights, smells and coming baby wildlife. It just seems to rejuvenate the soul with life after the dead of winter.

WOW, Ohio valley weather. Went to work, decent calm morning, snow starts, get 2", and then by 4 pm it had all melted. I going on a bathroom strike like Matt Damon until spring is here.

Sandhill cranes are in NW part of the state all Winter long, so I'm not sure how much of a sign that is...it's still February! We've got a whole month to get through before the real excitement starts.

Ice is off in the mid north. It's started, i'm noticing changes in the branches on some of the bushes along 65. All I need is a weekend 40 degrees or better in the afternoon. The bug is viscious this year.
