I have a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe and I really like it....got the 5.3 engine, plenty of power and good gas mileage
This thread is an attempt to get feedback on the various SUV's that are out there. Possibly as soon as my Lund 1675 Pro Guide is paid off later this year I will be getting a new SUV. I use the vehicle for work as well so a truck is not an option. I put 311,000 on a 89 Chevy Blazer, got rid of a 96 Ford Explorer with 250,000 plus on it, and currently have just over 192,000 on a 04 Mercury Mountaineer. I usually have around 25,000-30,000 business miles per year but hope to see that number go down.
I am not sold on the new Explorer but am open minded to it, I have thought of an Expedition but don't much like the interior. I've considered a Nissan Armada or possible a 2012 Pathfinder. (the new 2013 Pathfinder has a CVT transmission that I am leary of) Rented a Durango for a week but wasn't overly impressed. Considering a Jeep Grand Cherokee but it's the smallest of the bunch.
I'm curious to hear what others are driving and how happy they are with it.

I currently tow a 16 ft Lund Explorer with a 2011 Toyota 4runner SR5. The only issue with me is towing in cruise control where I don't like the way it revs up the RPMs while towing in cruise. No complaints not towing while highway driving in cruise. It seems like it should operate in a tighter RPM range while maintaining the set speed while towing.
After buying the 4runner and reading through the booklets it said not to tow in cruise. What the hey is with this nonsense when the dealer knew I intended to tow a boat with it! Rightly or wrongly I bought it with life time power train warranty and when I questioned the dealer about not towing with cruise he kind of hem hawed around and did remember I had life time power train on it so I'm cruising away while towing.
I checked with another member on here driving a Toyota Tundra which I think had the same engine my 4runner has and he said his booklets did not say anything about not towing in cruise with his Tundra.
Other than that one issue I'm really loving the 4runner especially with the back up camera when hooking up the boat trailer.
A friend I fish with(slabby joe) pulls a 18ft fiber glass Bass Cat boat with a Pathfinder and it doesn't rev up like my 4runner does to maintain the set cruise speed.

My wife drives a 2010 Ford Escape and we both really like it. Smaller than some you mentioned but still a nice ride. I haven't pulled my boat with it a lot but it did fine when I did pull it. I'm still driving & towing with a 1998 Jeep Cherokee & I like it but wouldn't buy another one.
never had a jeep I didnt love.....got alot of miles out of all of em

Wife's been driving an armada for about eight months, really like the layout and power of the vehicle. She came outa a sequoia with two hundred on it. The armada only gets about 16 miles to the gallon is the only drawback I've seen so far. On cruise it doesn't rev up and down and downshift as often as the sequoia did, I like that.
I have a 08 Ford F-150 with a 5.4. It has been a pretty good truck so far. I like the room it provides. Handles and drives good.
