Is that fishing pier near you good too? Or have to be on a boat? We don't wanna go on a boat at night unless we have an escort vessel.... ;-)

Phantom309. I am coming down this weekend to take my grandfather fishing. I thought we would go to Poinsett speck fishing. Do you think they will be shallow bedding or out deeper? If you could give me some advice I would appreciate it, I have never fished it before. We just scouted the boat ramp on 520 last time I was their.

All I know (only went down there once this year = flooded = not good) is that
It ought to be OK now, but haven't heard anything from down that way lately.
I need to make a trip down there, maybe next weekend, I generally do good in
Middle River (south of poinsett) with the water within the banks = should be now).
We had a fellow on here that fished there earlier this year but haven't heard from him lately.
Last year they were running late for spawn, but when they started it was good on
the west side of the lake.
I would say, being as though we've had a pretty warm winter that they might go to
spawn early, but, JMHO ........

The pier is good sometimes, however, when it's good = lots of people doing the same.
I got a friend that goes down there = He gets there eeeeearly, has submersible lights (four or more) throws em out to lay
on bottom = shine upwards, etc, etc, ....
I would suggest you and Terry come over on exploratory trip (they got outside Tiki bar) I'll meet up with ya'll.....
I think they got 115V plug-in sockets ya got to rent, not sure how all that works, etc, etc .....
If ya want to do the boat, of course, I'll bring my boat or we can all be in my boat, don't matter to me = got to be light wind, etc .......
And we'd do RR bridge/or/HC .......... I don't have lights or nets .............. Ya'll shrimp, I'll fish .......
It's all good ! ! ! Weather permitting ....................
