I like the using fire tiger, pearl w/ charteuse back, tennesse shad, chrome with either a blue or black back, or anything with a hit of charteuse in it. If you get fire tiger try using a Bomber Fat A, other than that I use Bandits 200 & 300 series.
I'm thinking of trying a few out and need to know some good colors to start with in real slightly stained water. I wouldn't worry about asking if it were old cheap jigs, but cranks are a little different $$$$$ wise. Thanks in advance for any help!!

Sounds like jigs, if it has charteuse in it then it's good. Thanks for the help!!

crappiechappy, look at the Cabela's Gravediggers. They are the same(almost) as the Bandits but a 'buck' cheaper. I would also make a solid black one with green eyes. Couldn't find one that color. <*)}}}><

Can't go wrong with Pearl , Chart , or my favorite anything with pink.
Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them.

I saw that on their website. Have you used them for crappie? If so which #'s are best?Originally Posted by Crappie Chatt

SteveJ, I have used every color and reds seem to be the least productive. Speed maybe the most important factor. My most productive speeds are 1.5 to 1.8 mph. A GPS is the only way to consistanly keep those speeds. Also laying a track will let you return to hot spots. I have both the med. divers and the deep. I would believe the deep divers with 50 to 80ft out will work the best. <*)}}}><

CC, thanks for the info, I have been wanting to make an order for a couple of rod holders but have been waiting to get some more stuff, think I will order a few to try. That's been my best speed also. Steve

I'm a huge fan of the Rapala F3 and CD3 for panfish.
They make a color called HOT STEEL which is blue on top, yellow down the sides, and orange/red on the bottom. It's a great crappie lure!
I like the floating F3 in spring and the COUNT DOWN CD3 in the summer.
They also make the F3 and CD3 in Fire Tiger!
Give these a try: Strike King Bitsy Pond Minnow, they come in 1/8 oz
Go to BPS or wal-mart and check out the selection. They come in firetiger and chartreuse and plenty of other colors.
