    Default Where else!!

Kscrappeye(Chad) and I went to the "power lake" in his nice big ol lund boat to see if the crappies were still biting and headed to the outlet. The action was a little slower and the bite quit earlier than the last few trips so we tried the "tubes"....no luck....went to some channel bends with brush but had to fight the wind and waves but managed a few keepers before calling it quits. Good to see Springhillwannabe out and about ...things will get better with colder weather. Most fish were near the bottom in the outlet (31fow) and down 18ft. in 20-28fow on the channel bends. We ended up with 17 keepers up to 13inches.

I guess I have never caught a crappie there. I see folks fishing by the water release and other misc places but haven't caught a crappie there yet. Lots have said as it gets colder, crappie will move to the water outlet.

Always large mouth bass, white bass and ocassionally a striper that is big enough to bring home.

Be on the lookout for another black Lund on the prowl out there in the very near future. Now that the deer hunting is done it is time to get back after it . Thanks for the report guys.

Slabby Joe-Thanks for spending the day showing me how to catch those La Cyne crappie. A really enjoyable day out on the water. Looking forward to the next time. Hey, LBM- Slabby joe laid a whooping on me. I am pretty sure I only put three in the live well.

Doug-guess what? Forgot to give you the beads for the slow death rig. I guess we will just have go fishing again.

Yep that ol Doug is a very competent, versatile and tenacious fisher where I'll quickly call it a day if the fish don't want to participate in my preferred ways of fishing. I'll just go again some other day to see if they will cooperate.

As for fishing with Doug at La Cygne is that's he's the very reason I call that place Lake Humiliation. Can't really say I've ever done that well down there even when I wasn't fishing with Doug down there.

Chad and Lee you guys are giving me way to much credit.....what's that old saying "even a blind hog finds an acorn once in awhile" Chad caught on pretty quick to the "outlet" pattern and Lee, I still remember that "humbling, no bite, total skunksville" trip to Clinton awhile back....I know you still remember it....fondly I'm guessin

If there's ever a 'crappie trail' tourney at LaCygne, I wanna partner up with 'Ol Doug'
