where do yall hook small minnows at? that all i can get rite now and not having luck with them living long, hooking them thru the eyes?
I've never fished with minnows, so I'm wondering. What size/style hooks do you use. How do you hook your minnows. Through the nose? lip? under dorsal fin? Inquiring fisherman wants to know.
Where you go is less important than how you take the steps.
But don't forget the Roadrunners

I hook mine up through the bottom jaw and out one of the lips if I'm fishing them on a jig. If under a float the same way unless I'm fishing near grass then I hook them behind the dorsal fin so they can swim into the grass.
through the lips
I hook mine through the lips. I was watching a Wally Marshall video and he said he hooks them through the eyes so they can't see a Crappie coming and run from him. Recon that's true????
Mark 1:17 ...I will make you fishers of men
It depends on where and what I am trying to accomplish, and how aggresive the Crappie are. I most of the time hook thru the lips. If the Crappie are pulling them off and not getting hooked I will hook them thru the eyes. If I am using them under a bobber with a weight I will hook them thru the back side of the dorsal fin. If I am fishing grass I will use a bobber and put a weight up the line 2-3 ft and hook them thru the tail so they can swim free style and natural. It all depends on where and what structure you are fishing. EB
DO-GOODER EXTRADINAR :p
I suggest using aberdeen hooks and hooking them through the eyes. It makes it more difficult for a fish to steal your minnow since they have to pull the hook through the front of the minnows skull.
eyes or lips for me
from the bottom of the jaw up through the lips for me.
I do it all until I see what is to their liking
