Slammed two limits in a few hours this morning with my son, going back in the morning. Fish are grouped up well.

I've heard a few good reports in the Meldahl area.

Bite was not as good this morning, only caught 7 between me and my son. Could not keep the jig out of the rocks, or the ice out of my guides. Was back home in the heat by 8am.

I use the Northland weight with the wire through it, find the bottom and stay just above, it works for me real well.

Keeps me out of the rocks and hangups on the bottom, just off the bottom are where they are. Touch the bottom, and a crank on the reel, Give it a try, works

It's been my finding that the colder it gets outside like in Dec. and Jan. the better the fish bite on the river...
