Default Trip Report, Kayaking Indian Creek, Lake Wheeler

I took today off from work and made one more trip to Indian Creek. The Crappie were everywhere and hitting everything. Most fish were in 2 to 4 feet of water, best bait again was a white Marabou jig, 1/16oz. I fished from 7:30AM till 2:00PM catching 163 Crappie total, keeping a limit. All fish were stuffed with shad.

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Great job Ditch! Did you stay in Indian Creek, or did you also venture into Barren Fork Creek?

Don't get upset, remember I had a slow day last week in the Paint Rock. Even I don't get them everyday!

And no, I'm 44 years old and every thump is as exciting as when I was 6 years old. It never gets boring and I pray that it never will!!

No insult taken jimp, and thanks. I’m almost sad to think that the fall feeding frenzy will slow down come December.

They may slow down, but Crappie don't stop. I love to hit the shallow flats after a couple of sunny days in Dec or Jan!!

I love the Dec,Jan fishing at night lol not that many fishing.Watching your corks is they glow beneath the surface and the pull of the fish seems stronger. The warmth of a small fire an a hot dog on a stick to chase away the munchies.
