Default Crappie nibbles ? Opinions on my problem? Thanks

I've heard that these work great for crappie and panfish too when you tip a jig with them. Used them for the first time yesterday and got 2 strong hits that completely sunk my cork but no fish either time I set the hook. Seems like the fish are just hitting the nibble maybe?? But seems like it would have to get the hook too?? Opinions are appreciated!! Not sure if the gills or the crappie were hitting it. It was almost dark. Thanks a lot. I was using it to tip a trout magnet.

There are times when you almost have to anticipate the hit and set the hook right as they grab it. Generally that's bluegill.

wm- I'm a newbie to the Crappie Nibbles, and stated using them on the recommendations of just about everyone I've spoken with here at Reelfoot. I've caught several Crappie, and a few White Bass n them. That said, I've had strikes where all they manage to get is the Nibble. I just think it's that way with any type bait you use, there's no 100% hook rate. One thing I have to remind my dad is to keep the slack out of his line, if you don't, by the time you either reel it in, or take-up the slack in the process of setting the hook, many times the fish will be long gone, along with your bait.

I've notice the Crappie Nibbles are fairly fragile, I try to not even handle them with my fingers, and stick the hook point into the jar instead. Something else you don't want to do is get them wet (as in water in the jar).

They clump/stick together pretty well, I'd just keep the lid on 'em.

if you take a few at a time out and lay them on the deck they will harden up and stay on your hook better!!!!!!!!!!

Spend more time fishing and leave the cost and trouble of nibbles at home.
