First trip of the year

Took my son out for the first trip, peewee football, and it started out bad. Lost the tips off two rods before I even used them, must have blown out on the way down. Then I must have one of my trolling motor batteries going bad but we found some crappie. Caught about 70 or so but only had 26 keepers. The keepers were all nice most 11-12 inch range. Most of the small ones were just a 1/4" or so short. All were caught on jigs in 20 to 25 foot of water.

Nothing better than spending some quality time with your son. Sounds like the catch made up for the beginning of the day!
