President Barack Obama said in an interview that if the investigation into the Sept. 11 attack on the American compound in Libya finds that "there was a big breakdown, and somebody didn't do their job, they'll be held accountable."

Sure they'll be held accountable, just like those involved in the Fast and Furious debacle :rolleyes: What a joke!

Having limited reconn (drone) capability does NOT automatically give you the ability to IMMEDIATELY INSTANYLY put boots on the ground out of THIN AIR...9/11 should have made you aware a terrorist can attack when THEY want to, what they want to and how they want to. The only way to prevent every POSSIBLE attack is to quadruple the size of the military and have a soldier standing infront of every door step, thus becoming a police state.

Uhhhh LT .... we're talking about protecting American officials in foreign countries. No one is advocating a police state, here at home.
And their was adequate warning signs, well prior to the incident ... that should have been enough reason to have raised the protection level. As I understand it ... there were troops within 1hrs distance, that could have been called in. That's not exactly "thin air". It may not have saved the lives of the four men, but it certainly would have sent a clear message to the perps that they'd suffer severe casualties in any similar future event.
