    Default Fishing line?

I just resumed crappie fishing after a 7yr hiatus and started back with flouracarbon and am disappointed.
i reeled up 6lb and it seemed that after each 6 times setting the hook the line snapped at the reel (B&M) black plastic. What is your recommend line. I use the B&M jig poles @ 11ft length and fish exclusive, jigs. Thanks for any replys.

Sounds like something is rubbing the line. Check the guides and bail roller.

That, or the line is just old or damaged.

Did you remeber to moisten the line before you cinched down the knot? This is more critical in Fluro than Mono as it develops stress fractures if it has too much heat from friciton as it is tightened up.

Check your reel. If it is the one I think you are talking about if the line is rubbing on the little cross bar that holds the 2 sides together it has a sharp edge that is cutting your line.

I use the "Offshore Angler" Tight lines from BPS. It's a bulk line on the bigger spools and not expensive, but has done very well for me for several years now. 2600yds of 6lb hi vis yellow for about $7. I use 4, 6, and 10lb.
