    Default St Croix Rods?

I am seriously considering buying a couple of St Croix rods to add to my arsenal. I've decided I can't have too many rods.

For one I am looking at the Avid series in an 8' rod AVS80MLM2. for the second the Panfish series in a 10' rod PFS100LMF2

Any of you that own or have used St Croix rods and have suggestions please post away! I know the 8' Avid series rods weighs a measly 3.6 ounces!

I use St Croix rods for Crappie. My favorite is the 7' med lite spinning rod "70MLF".
It has a fast tip with lots of backbone. Comes in either one piece or two piece. I use both.
    Good fishing.

Thanks for the input! By the way I Loved your DVD! If I ever get down to TX I think I'd have to schedule some fishing time with you. I am sure I could talk and pick your brain for hours

I have two Premier rods from St. Croix. A 6'6 light and a 7' med light. Love both of them. I bought my son a 6'6 light this year.

Also let me know what you are using your particular rods for. Vertical jigging? Dock Shooting?, Trolling?, Casting? etc.

I own quite a few St. Croix rods and absolutely love them. The only one that has good and bad points is the 5' ultralight rod whicch is very whippy and good only on short casts. Get anything lighter than a panfish (small northern, bass, or walleye) on it and your are in for the fight of a lifetime. The eyecon jigging rod is my favvorite for walleye during the spring river runs. Best rods made in my opinion - just wish they made a 12' spider rig rod.

I haven't had the chance to handle the panfish series, but own a Triumph, and a Premier, and wouldn't trade then for anything. For the price, St. Croix rods are better than the Loomis rods I own. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

I have two Premiers (a 5'6" light and a 6' medium) and one Avid (6' UL.) I use the light and UL models for casting jigs, mostly 1/64 - 1/32 oz. The medium rod is for bass.

SC makes good stuff. It's hard to go wrong with one of their rods.
