My older etrex usually within 10'. They say the newer high def models faster to lock on. Most simple to operate that I've seen.

I had one (older etrex) that would only get within 15 ft or so most of the time. If you just marking brush throw a buoy when it shows you’re there even if your not marking on the graph and then approach form another angle….you’ll have no problem finding your spot.

X3 Mine works like a champ. Have lake maps on it and use it in the boat.

For the best accuracy do a waypoint averaging, if your unit has this feature. This is done quite often by the Geocashing groups.

Ive got 2 garmin etrex legends, both work pretty good. I think you can get them for around 100 bucks. Just make sure what ever u get, has WAAS built in. I think most of them do. These get me within 10 feet easy. You can still find them on ebay, I think. You can practice with it, if you go to geocaching site and do some finds....

    then learn to triangulate
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and one that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.
